Letter From Your Board Chairman
January 10, 2019
First, as we embark on the New Year, I want to thank you for your loyal membership with Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU). Since 1932 we have – and continue to – pride ourselves on being there for you when you need us, like no other financial institution.
Second, we value honesty and transparency. You may have already heard that President/CEO Ron Scott has left the credit union. This is true. He has decided to leave the credit union to move back West to be with his family full time. Ron served eight years as CEO, leading the credit union through a period of growth in assets and technology as well as service to low-income populations.
At the same time, two other members of our leadership team have recently moved on from ACFCU as well. Some of you may have had working relationships with these individuals, just as you do with our branch managers, tellers, or loan officers. Going forward, we stand ready to assist you with whatever your need may be, even if you find yourself working with someone new.
As the ACFCU Board Chairman, I can reassure you that ours is a stable and strong financial institution. I simply wanted to make you aware of these changes and emphasize that your level of service will not change.
As always, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. We have named Kelly Smith as our Interim CEO until we have completed a national executive search for Ron Scott’s replacement. With nearly 25 years of experience in the credit union industry, Kelly is well equipped to lead ACFCU through this transition period. Her direct line is: 423-378-2803, or you can email to: email@example.com.
On behalf of our entire ACFCU family, we wish you prosperity, good health and much happiness in 2019!
