Our History

Originally formed by the employees of Mead Paper Mill (Domtar) in Kingsport, TN, in 1932, the Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union of today is pleased to serve any persons who live, work, worship or attend school in Carter, Hawkins, Sullivan, Unicoi or Washington Counties, Tennessee, the city of Bristol, TN/VA, the city of Norton, VA, Wise, Scott and Washington Counties, Virginia, Jackson, Clinton, McCreary, and Wayne Counties, Kentucky, as well as other designated entities.  Contact us to learn more about membership eligibility.  

ACFCU is a safe, sound, strong not-for-profit financial cooperative with each of our members' deposits insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)

  • Andrew J. Mullins III, Chief Executive Officer/President 
    With more than 40 years of financial services and lending experience in Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee, Andy Mullins joined the ACFCU team in August of 2020. Having served on the management teams of two local community banks during the past two decades, he brings a wealth of experience in most all aspects of today’s financial services industry. Mullins, along with the rest of the Appy team, is dedicated to ensuring our membership receives the highest level of service available while helping them meet their financial goals.
  • Vicki Gobble, Chief Operations Officer/Chief Financial Officer
    Vicki Gobble is a key leader on the ACFCU team, serving as both Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer. Gobble joined ACFCU in June 2019 and brings many years of experience in nearly every operational area of financial services, from compliance and accounting, to strategy and service.
  • Olivia Rumley, Vice President of Lending
    Olivia Rumley has more than 30 years of lending experience in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.  With an expansive background in mortgage lending, consumer lending, and branch management, she is committed to exceeding the expectations of the communities we serve through exceptional service and a member-focused lending approach.
  • Miranda Gray Cooper, Vice President of Member Experience
    Miranda Cooper brings extensive knowledge in marketing, communication and business development in the financial services and education industries.  With more than 25 years of experience, she joined ACFCU in February 2021.
  • Brack Lindamood, Director of Information Technology
    Brack Lindamood joined the Appy Team in October 2011 and has more than 15 years of IT experience.  He brings a wealth of expertise to his position and is dedicated to to providing state-of-the-art, fast, secure, and reliable systems for our members and team members.  
  • Rhonda Hazlewood, Director of Human Resources
    With more than 30 years of human resources experience, Rhonda Hazlewood joined the ACFCU team in September 2022.  She has served on the executive teams of companies in a variety of industries.  She is committed to ACFCU being an "Employer of Choice" in the communities we serve.
