Washington, D.C. : Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU) has earned the 2025 America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award, an honor explicitly reserved for financial institutions that created measurable impact and displayed exceptional achievement during the annual America Saves Week campaign. Hannah Hutchins, ACFCU marketing manager, coordinated the campaign on behalf of the credit union.
ACFCU is one of 11 banks and 14 credit unions honored with this distinction out of more than 4600 participating organizations of America Saves Week, which took place April 7 – 11, 2025 as part of Financial Capability Month.
"We are thrilled to honor these outstanding financial institutions for their commitment to helping Americans build better saving habits," said Amy Miller, Program Manager at America Saves. "These awardees didn’t just participate—they activated real behavior change by making saving accessible, actionable, and inclusive in their communities. Their leadership is at the heart of this movement."
Now in its 18th year, America Saves Week continues to serve as a catalyst for individuals, families, and organizations across the country to take action toward their financial well-being. This year’s campaign reached more than 28.5 million individuals, inspired $155 million in reported savings, and brought together 5,046 participating organizations, making it the most impactful America Saves Week to date.
